4 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 11, 201 <br /> i <br /> APPOINTMENTS &HEARINGS: <br /> i <br /> Santuit Pond Preserve IMprovements - $61,250: (continued) <br /> brief discussion followed with respect to the open space property shared with <br /> the Town of Barnstable. It was noted that most of the subject property lies within <br /> the Town of Mashpe with beautiful views of Santuit Pond. The lana referenced <br /> as Lot 117 is owned by the Town of llashpee and is a part of the Santuit Pond <br /> Preserve. The topography is relatively flat. The site is gated and monitored by <br /> the Town and the 1 lashpee Environmental Coalition. <br /> It was disclosed the storage building to be removed is not situated on Lot 117. <br /> The Town of Mashpee is currently awaiting a$150,000 CPA contribution from <br /> p g <br /> the Town of Barnstable to convey an interest in the Mills Family Lands on Santuit <br /> Pond. It was noted the Town of Barnstable contributed a funding match for the <br /> Santuit Pond Darn project. S ince the Town of Barnstable is a co-over of the <br /> 200+acre property with access, it was the consensus of the CPC Committee to <br /> request a contribution towards the storage garage removal-and related re- <br /> vegetation work associated to this project. <br /> tt quin Parc Play r and 30*000: <br /> Catherine LaurentP resented a revised request for the Attach Park Playground <br /> located at 35 Lake Ave at the site of the Town beach on Mashpee/Wakeby load. <br /> The goal of the project is to incrementally fund playground equipment to improve <br /> the recreational facilities. The revised request is$30,000 from$42,500. <br /> Ms. Laurent indicated she reviewed the matter of the playground with Selectman <br /> Wayne Taylor,the Town Manager, Police Chief and Director of the Recreation <br /> Department as there has been concern historically with vandalism. However, and <br /> favorably,In recent years property Mage has declined. <br /> T-he modified bud et includesplaygroundstructures which would include two <br /> swings,a toddler swing and center play structure. revised plan prepared by <br /> M.E.
