Conservation Commission <br /> Minutes of March 13,2014 <br /> Public Hearings <br /> Mashee Town Hall <br /> eway Meeting Room <br /> Commissioners: Bud Shaw, Mark Gurnee, brad Sweet, John Rogers, Robert Anderson, <br /> Dale McKay and Louis Dimeo (Associate Member <br /> Staff Present-, Drew McManus(Conservation Agent) and Judy aig eaultR c r mn <br /> Secretary:' <br /> Call 1 le In _ o Order: 5:55 pems <br /> The meeting was called to order with a quorum by Acting Chairman Bud Shave at5:55 <br /> p . <br /> There was no public comment <br /> Pre/Post Hearing Agenda: <br /> Approval of Minutes: February 13, 2014,February 27, 2014 <br /> Motion: Brad Sweet moved to approve the minutes of February 13,2014, seconded <br /> by John Rogers.. vote unanimous. 4-2 with Bud Shaw and Dale McKay abstaining. <br /> Motion: Brad Sweet moved to approve the minutes of February 27,2014, seconded <br /> by John Iger . vote unanimous. -1 with Bud Shaw abstaining. <br /> Agent McManus noted he organized an Amen'Cor s work day to cheep the Quashnet <br /> River and Mashpee River to clear away debris for the upcoming herring season. The <br /> boards were pulled out of the Quashnet fish ladder and the fish ladder was cleaned out. <br /> The group also covered the upper stretch of the Quashnet River and covered the upper <br /> and lower portions of the Mashp a River. Crews will be seat out to clean the middle <br /> stretch of the river between now and the end of the month, The Agent said all major <br /> debris was cleared from the portions of the rivers that were covered and AmenW rps put <br /> in a full day. The third herring run, Santuit River, was covered by the Agent and <br /> members of the Division of Marine fisheries a couple of months ago and will be checked <br /> again. The Agent said the herring count starts around April 15 and he has not yet heard of <br /> the training date. The date Will be posted on the website and previous and new <br /> ;# volunteers are welcome. <br />
