She also met the Mashpee Police department <br /> concenung various issues. <br /> Darlene stated she started to work with the volunteers and met vith the person who <br /> delivers books to homebound elders. She is working with the director to recruit and train <br /> neer volunteers. <br /> The Director thanked Darlene for the good job that she is doing. <br /> Motion: Jack Dorsey moved to accept the Outreach Coordinator Report, seconded <br /> by Virginia McIntyre. vote unanimous <br /> Jack]horsey said the Housing Authority is building a new set of units and they are going <br /> to tie into the sewage at the high school. It will be housing available to the elderly. He <br /> suggested having a spe ker cork in to see ghat is available and how it is done. <br /> VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR REPORT <br /> The Director distributed the Volunteer Coordinator Report prepared by Judith Lenge and <br /> reviewed it with the members. Lynne highlighted new volunteers, National volunteer <br /> Week-and the volunteer Recognition Lunch which will be held May 16. She asked if the <br /> Council memb ers couId arrive at 1 I:oo a.rrr. to greet the volunteers. Lynne noted that <br /> Judy Lenge attended'the Cape Cod volunteers Spring Fair at.the Mashpee Library <br /> Motion: Maio Gor-n y moved to accept the volunteer Coordinator Report, <br /> seconded by Jack Dorsey. vote Unanimous* <br /> ACTIVITY COORDINATOR REPORT <br /> Lynne distributed the.Activity Coordinator's report from Christine oisy and reviewed it rt <br /> with the mi embers. She noted the Coyote Program held on April 19P was excellent the <br /> Volunteer Appreciation Week Program held on April 22 enjoyed the sing along with Rob <br /> Shain and the feedback was excellent. -The Children's Singing Program which consisted <br /> of 81 second graders, teachers and Mashpee Senior Singer volunteers enjoyed the <br /> program-presented by the students. The men's 'vii golf did not have any participants so <br /> she is changing the venue to all the sports in the Wii, The Knitting Group is going well <br /> and the Portuguese Group finished their session. The Social and Wellness Activity List <br /> Handout is %.completed. The staff'has been given their copies and input.-from thea <br /> has been requested. This will be handed out to persons inquiring about pro rams and <br /> activities available and the Center. <br /> Jack commented that at South Cape Beach there is a nature walk on Fridays. <br />
