4 3 <br /> a <br /> I <br /> I <br /> COUNCIL ON AGING NEINS <br /> AUGUST 14, 2013 <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members Irving Goldberg, Jean l oussee, Marijo Dorney, <br /> Jack Dorsey, Virginia McIntyre, Lynne Waterman, Council on Aging Director,-and <br /> Darlene Perkins,., outreach Coordinator <br /> Absent: Mary Gaffney, Jack Jordan <br /> Chaim an Irving Goldberg opened the meeting at 8:30 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF TES—July 10, 2013 <br /> Motion: Jack Dorsey moved to accept the minutes of July 1 , 2013 with one <br /> correction. Seconded by Jean Noussec. '"dote unan" oul, <br /> To Public Comments <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> DERECTOW S REPORT <br /> Director Waterman distributed her report-for the month of July highlighting Walgreen' <br /> pian to help future programs. The pill abuse program sponsored by the Barnstable <br /> County Sheriff, TOAD and the Mashpee Police Department was a success. Lynne along <br /> with the activity coordinator met with the staff of the Royal Nursing and Rehabilitation <br /> Center to plan future programs such as the octoberfest luncheon_ <br /> Lynne Waterman noted she has completed the drive-along process with,the two <br /> permanent drivers and the two substitute chvers and one of the drivers is continuing to <br /> call seniors age eighty-five and older to inform them of the van schedules. <br /> Lynne granted to thank the DPW custodians for the good work they did in their twice a <br /> year cleaning of the floors, multi-purpose rooms and arts and crafts room. She along <br /> with the DPW director agreed that activities will be cancelled in the future when this type <br /> of cleaning is done in order to make the custodians'jobs easier. <br /> Lynne also thanked the Friends of the Council on Aging for their purchase of the lovely <br /> new patio furniture and also thanked the gardening volunteer and custodian who recently <br /> planted perennials in the front of the Ser or Center. <br /> Director Waterman noted that the work on the front desk(reception area)was completed <br /> in July and also a new work station for a new office assistant was created. The staffs' <br /> orldng space is quieter and more confidential for the clients. <br />
