iP. <br /> 49; r <br /> COUNCIL ON AGING WINUTES <br /> May 1 ,2014 <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members fving Goldberg, Virginia McIntyre, Mary <br /> Gaffney, Jean Noussee, .hack Dorsey, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman, and <br /> Darlene Perkins, outreach Coordinator <br /> Absent: Jack Jordan, Mario Dorney and Norah McCormick <br /> Chairman Irving Goldberg opened the meeting at 8:32 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL of MINUTES—April 9, 2014 and Executive Session Minutes April 9, <br /> 2014 <br /> Motion: Mary Gaffney moved to approve the minutes of April 9,2014 with one <br /> change, seconded by Virginia McIntyre. Vote unanimous <br /> Motion: Mary Gaffney proved to approve and release the executive session minutes <br /> of April 9, 2014,seconded by Virginia McIntyre. 'vote unanimous. <br /> Public Comments <br /> None <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> ACTOR"S PORT <br /> Director Lynne Waterman distributed her report for the month of April. The Director <br /> reviewed her report highlighting her meetings with local author to discuss the possibility <br /> of future presentations, staff from a local home care agency to continue the planning of a <br /> brain fitness program., a new AARP driving instructor, the Director of the Samaritans to <br /> discuss a future suicide training, staff from Mashpee Community TV, a local audiologist <br /> and with staff from Hebrew Senior Life who contacted her to discuss presentations they <br /> are interested in doing. Also the Director and Activity Coordinator met with a writing <br /> ins ni for to plan a fall writing session and with a computer instructor to plan the fall <br /> prograrn . The Director also noted that she and the Recreation Director worked together <br /> to plan the recent tree planting ceremony by the children at the Senior Center. <br /> Director Waterman thanked the DPW for the repair to the van backup signal. .the also <br /> thanked the DPW for the great job their staff did weeding and mulching the Senior <br /> Center yard as part of their spring cleanup and for the repair to one of the partitions in the <br /> men's bathroom. Regarding the Senior Center Building opening after hours, there will he <br /> a monitor in the building_ <br />
