The Director stated her goals are t <br /> train the new volunteer coordinator, complete tasks for the property tax program which <br /> ends in September and plan for new.year beginning October I"and also to plan programs <br /> for November. She thanked the volunteers of a local gardening group Who once again <br /> made beautiful bouquets for several seniors. <br /> Motion: Jack Dorsey moved to accept the Director's report, seconded by Jack <br /> Jordan. vote was unanimous. <br /> TR ASU R S REPORT <br /> Director Waterman reviewed theud et figures with the members. <br /> Motion: Ginny McIntyre moved to accept the'T'reasurer's Report, seconded by <br /> .dean Noussee. Vote unanimous. <br /> OUTREACH COORDINATOW S REPORT <br /> Darlene Perkins, outreach Coordinator, distributed her report for the month of August. <br /> She stated she had gree home visits and many client contacts by telephone and visits to <br /> the office. Many of her visits were seniors and families needing help with transportation, <br /> homecar , medical equipment and information on hove to choose a skilled care facility. <br /> The Coordinator said she has been busy training a.new volunteer to start working with <br /> residents applying for fuel assistance and-beginning to help residents fill out their <br /> recertification applications for fuel assistance. One resident has moved into a senior <br /> residence from an apartment he has been residing to which was highly inappropriate for <br /> his needs. There were 30 participants in the Brown Bag program with 5 great volunteers <br /> working on this prograrn. Darlene met,with the Mashpee Police department concerning <br /> three natters of seniors needing referrals for services. <br /> Darlene noted she continues to meet monthly with volunteers and 7 Ma hpee residents <br /> turned 90 plus-and received flowers. She is continuing to meet with the volunteers on <br /> regular basi <br />
