COUNCIIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 8,2014 <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members Irving Goldberg, Virginia McIntyre, l rlari o <br /> Dorney, Jack Dorsey, Ernest Cornelssen, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman <br /> and Outreach Coordinator Darlene Perkins. <br /> Absent: Mary Caffey Norah McCormick, hack Jordan, .dean 1oussee <br /> Chairman Irving Goldberg opened the meeting at 8:35 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL of MINUTES—September 10, 2014 <br /> Motion; Ernie Cornelssen moved to approve the minutes of September 10, 2014, <br /> seconded by Ginny McIntyre. Vote unanimous <br /> Public Comments <br /> None <br /> COMMUNICATIONS ANIS CORRESPONDENCE <br /> SPONDENC <br /> IRECTOWS REPORT <br /> Director Lynne Waterman distfibuted her report for the month of September. She said, <br /> she and the Activity Coordinator met with a new volunteer who will be facilitating a <br /> writing program and a person wh6 will be coordinating a weight loss group beginning in <br /> November. The Director also met with the Travel Coordinator, the instructor of the new <br /> VTA.walking program and the co-leader of the Singing Singers. <br /> The Director n ted there is a small 'issue with the van that will be addressed with the <br /> dealership. <br /> The Director thanked the Friends of the Council on Aging who purchased blinds for the <br /> Arts and Crafts room along with a new activities cart. The annual inspection of the <br /> Senior Center was completed by the Building Inspector and the Fire Safety,Inspector and <br /> the DPW will be following up. Lynne thanked the DPW staff for the great job they did <br /> weeding the back patio and yard and who also planted blooming perennials which were <br /> selected by the gardening volunteers. . <br /> The Director noted the monthly meetings she attended: Department Head, Human <br /> Services Committ e, COAST, CoA staff, and the Parkinson's Support Network of Cape <br /> Cod Board bf Directors and Prograrn Committee. She also attended a TRUD meeting <br /> and the quarterly CIRCA.training for the regional Council on Aging staff. The Director <br />
