Minutes of Combined Meeting of vcl� <br /> Mashpee Design Review Committee and <br /> Mashpee Plan Review Committee <br /> Held Tuesday, October 15, 2013 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> Design Review Members Present: Joseph Cummings, and Jonathan Furbush. <br /> Plan Review Members Present: <br /> Charlie Maintanis, Local Inspector <br /> Joyce Mason, Town Manager <br /> Scott Carline, Police Department <br /> Joel Clifford, Fire Inspector <br /> Tom Fudala, Town Planner <br /> Catherine Laurent, DPW Director <br /> Veronica Warden, Assistant Health Agent <br /> Charlie Maintanis called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. <br /> 22 Falmouth Road, Unit 8.2 <br /> Discussion <br /> Request to open a Boxing Studio <br /> Representative —Shauna Gonsalves <br /> Shauna Gonsalves said the plans are to open a Boxing Studio geared mainly to children. She said <br /> her husband is a professional boxer and will be training there. <br /> • Hours would be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. <br /> • Would be offering optional age-appropriate bible discussions to provide moral solutions. <br /> • Working with USA Boxing for anyone who wants to compete. They get insurance through <br /> them, as well as their own personal insurance. <br /> • They are part of Cape Cod Church and they do a lot with children, such as at-risk teens, <br /> provided these children do one-half hour of community service per week such as doing <br /> premises landscaping, helping with little children, cleaning, etc. <br /> • Anyone who is "recovering" can come at cost of$20 per month. <br /> Building size —625 square feet. Lt <br /> • 3 bags are up; plenty of room for shadow boxing; they have room for expansion. <br /> • They have a rest room and a back room for changing. <br /> There is a seating area for parents. <br /> Parking spaces...They are not sure how many spaces are assigned. Shauna Gonsalves said <br /> most of the parking is in the front and most spaces vacant most of the time. <br /> • She and her husband are the only employees right now, plus 2 trainers will be there. <br /> • There will be approximately 6 to a class. 3 classes: Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. <br /> • Joel Clifford asked whether staff trained on AED, First Aid, and CPR. They said they will get <br /> trained; they will get information from Joel. <br /> Veronica Warden stated this will be a change of use for that Plaza so a Special Permit.would <br /> be needed. Also septic system inspection for that building would be required. <br /> Charlie Maintanis mentioned that signage has been a problem at that site. Shauna Gonsalves <br /> said that right now they don't have money for signage. <br /> Scott Carline said if the Police Department can assist in any way, they would be glad to help. <br />
