White seconded the motion. All noted unanimously. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Where was no public comment. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> 2013 Meeting Schedule <br /> There was unanimous consent from the Committee to continue meeting on the second Thursday <br /> of the month. <br /> ACTION ITEMS UPDATE <br /> Estuary estorationShellfh Propagation , <br /> Chairman Petersen stated that an article recently appeared in the Mashpee Enterprise regarding <br /> Mr. York's Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Propagation program. Mr. York reported that he <br /> recently presented a proposed draft Shellfish Component to the Comprehensive wastewater <br /> Management Plan(Cwt)to the Sewer Conunxssion. Mr, York referenced a recent <br /> development offered by the EPA and Massachusetts IEP allowing the inclusion of shellfish t <br /> the CWMP and as past of the cleanup for estuaries, with the condition that a Plan B was in place <br /> for backup. Between Popponesset Bay and wa uon'l ay,Mr. York belie-ved that 0%of the <br /> cleanup could occur with the shellfish, based on a low risk, reliable plan that could be reasonably <br /> implemented. <br /> Expansion would occur with the Town-s oyster project in Mashpee River with propagation <br /> producing 1 million oysters for family Dishing and the Tribe increasing their farm production to <br /> million oysters at the mouth of the ricer. 1n wauoit Bary, quahogs would be used due to the <br /> higher salinity. Mr. York was recently asked about the cost and risk analysis ofh*is proposed <br /> plan in Mashpee and he was able to show that oysters were below because the amount of <br /> frsh;pater inMbited disease and predation and reliable.production had occurred since 2004_ <br /> o sters Nvould be less successful in Wa uoit Bay, due to the lack of freshwater, so quahogs were <br /> expected to be successful with a 1 ieh seed.
