Mr. Theis seconded the motion. All <br /> voted unanimously. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Mr. Theis reported that he had observed Americorpswork building trays for Mr. York. Mr. <br /> Petersen also recommended reviewing the open Meeting Law. <br /> NW BUSINESS <br /> None at this time. <br /> i <br /> ACTION ITEMS S UPDATE <br /> i <br /> Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Propagation <br /> It was reported that a training class would be offered in June for Wa uoit Bay. Additional <br /> information could be found on the WDNERR website. <br /> Pond Water Quality <br /> Selectman Cahalane stated that it was the first spring that there had been no complaints about <br /> Santuit Pond. work was continuing on the dam and herring run. Mr. Talbot inquired about the <br /> monitoring of the Solar Bees and Selectman Cahalane responded that the company, as well as <br /> Mr. York, were monitoring the impact of the circulators. Chairman Petersen indicated that he <br /> would contact Mr. York regarding an update_ <br /> Phosphorus Management for Fresh Water fonds <br /> Mr. Talbot distributed copies of the-articles" an.Care Industry Greed Dills Fish" and <br /> "Falmouth Fertilizer Limits Nixed" to members of the Committee. Mr. Talbot referenced <br /> Falmouth's nitrogen bylaw and the Attorney General's ruling that the phosphorus fertilizer law <br /> would preempt any town regulation of fertilizers. Mr. Talbot added that Orleans had also <br /> attempted to establish nitrogen fertilizer regulations. within the ruling, language may allow <br /> Falmouth to overrule the preemption and wording that town concerns should be forwarded to the <br /> Department of Agricultural Resources. Additionally, town officials should contact the Cape Cod <br /> Commission who would be drafting region regulations. Mr. Tarot stated that the Cape Cod <br /> Commission would be looking into the issue further and encouraged individuals to contact <br /> interested parties to work toward allowing provisions for the regulations. Mr. 'Talbot suggested <br /> the possibility of developing regulations that would have a positive effect, and encourage people <br /> to support it.
