Mr. York reported that the monitoring of Mashp e's ponds were ongoing with the assistance of <br /> the Mashpee Environmental Coalition and Friends of Santuit Pond. Summer monitoring of the <br /> bays were conducted by S asT,the Tribe and the Waterways Com fission. There was <br /> consensus from the Committee that water Quality Monitoring would be removed from the <br /> agenda and discussion would be added to Pond&Estuary Water Quality. <br /> Combine water-Sewer <br /> Selectman Cahalane clarified that combining water and sever was voted in by the Ton for the <br /> Water District to take over, while the Sewer Commission became non-functional. The Nater <br /> District did not agree to expand the water/Sewer District to five members. Selectman Cahalane <br /> reported that the final draft of the Hone Rule Petition Bill would be signed at the next Board of <br /> Selectmen meeting. Mr. York inquired when the take-over would occur and whether the Sever <br /> Commission would be able to complete the wastewater planning. Selectman Cahalane <br /> responded that they should be able to complete the planning and the legislature could consider <br /> the bill in three months or one year. There was question as to whether the water District could <br /> choose not to use the Sewer Con fission"s plan and Selectman Cahalane confirmed that the <br /> Sewer Commission had been asked to complete the planning but that there was no guarantee that <br /> the Water District would commit to the plan. There was discussion regarding the need for a plan <br /> and threat of a lawsuit, but Selectman Cahalane stated that there had not yet been any <br /> enforcement of the lawsuit. fir.
