Mr. York added that <br /> the littlenecks could be successful due to the sandy and low flush conditions in ockw y Bay. Mr. <br /> York added that shellfish propagation would be added to the wastewater management plan, along <br /> with a new Federal pamphlet regarding best management.practices for shellfish restoration. <br /> Selectman Cahalane-in uired whether shellfish were still effective cleaning nitrogen regardless o <br /> fired tide and Mr. York confirmed that the shellfish were not killed during red tide. <br /> Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Propagation <br /> Mr. York reported that seed had been ordered with the CPC funding. Mr. Talbot inquired whether <br /> Mr. York would draft an article for the UEC regarding shellfish propagation. Mr. York suggested <br /> that the time would be when the final data was received from the State. There was discussion <br /> regarding lawn reductions. <br /> Pond & Estuary Water Quality <br /> Mr. York reported that the Wa panoag Tribe had hired a Ball time water duality technician who <br /> was working cooperatively with the Town in the lab and had been-funded for one year, with the <br /> possibility of an extension. Mr. York added that Sandy money may be available for additional <br /> equipment to ensure the public's health. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Combine Vater-Sewer <br /> Mr. York indicated that a final draft of the wastewater plan was expected next week from the Seiner <br /> Commission. Selectman Cahalane expressed concern about the Water District who had indicated <br /> that they would pursue them-own planning. Mr. York indicated that a plan would at least be in <br /> place. There was discussion about shellfish restoring the health of the bays to their original state. <br /> Town-Wide Stormw ter Management Plan <br /> No update was available <br /> Land Steward Program <br /> Mr. Talbot reported that the program was ramping up, adding that NEC had adopted the Santuit <br /> Pond area. It was reported that there was a clean-up in the fall. <br /> Pilgrim Nuclear Power Pl n <br /> The Chair voted that protests continued and Mr. Talbot reported that.the Governor had agreed to <br /> submit another letter to Entergy regarding Pilgrim. Selectman Cahalane added that Pilgrim <br /> protestors would be prosecuted. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> Mr. Talbot referenced efforts by the Cape Cod Commission to reduce nitrogen loads by placing <br /> more land into preservation. Mr. Talbot stated that the CPC voted against purchasing the $600,000 <br /> 27-acre Littleford parcel. Mr. Talbot suggested that the land was not suitable for affordable <br /> housing, but that it would be sensible for conservation since it had a number of conservation <br /> 2 <br />
