i , SOUTH CAPE BEACH 5/26/98 PAGE Iv DISCUSSION P THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COMMITTEE : T 'D Winnie explained that she had had a lot to do with the stop- page of the progress of the plans to develop the state pari.. Until DEM addresses the concerns specifically stated in her letter, she stated teat she would have great difficult sup- porting future development . The entire pare is under the flood plain ., and any structures built will have to meet _.the flood plain r-equirements for construction. Winnie questiond the size of the proposed buildings , and the .extent of the trails and structures proposed, - and how they would impact on the wildlife that is out - there, Until t-heir address the environ- mental conc.ern , no construction should be considered . Morris explained that -their concerns were never going to be addressed until DEM. is compelled to go forward. They have an obligation to build Anis building. Francis LeBaron ' s concerns were similar to Winnie' s . Mr . Kirsner appointed . a committee of, three to appear at the next meeting to produce all records relative to the proposed building on South Cape Beach,, Catherine,, Bill and Jerry were appointed; Bill was appointed as chairman of. the sub-committee . Winnie moved to suspend any action until the next meeting . Francis seconded . All in favor . So moved. V REPORT - OF THE SUB-COMMITTEE: This discussion was postponed until next meeting agenda , I AN INSCRIBED STOKE TO COMMEMORATE THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE: Dorris explained there were various committee members who had devoted a tremendous amount of time to accomplish the acquisi- tion of the land which is now mown as South Cape beach State Pari . . During the entire process Dick Kendall. , the - former Comm-issioner of Environmental Management reported that upon the completion of , and the creation of South Cape Beach State Park, there would be a memorial. inscribed - with the names of the selectmen and the committee members , and any such others whose names rightfully should be on there. Morris wants to honor his responsibility and the committment of DEM. ,ferry Monaghan presented a motion to take steps necessary to implement the establishment of a memorial. to commemorate the names of the proposed committee members . to be laterascer- tained . Francis seconded the motion. A majority were in � favor. Ro moved . Morris appointed a committee to list the names to be affixed to the memorial. Jack, Catherine and Morris Kirsner will form this committee. Morris - will be the chairperson .
