-SOUTH CAPE BEACH <br /> 7/20/ 99 <br /> SAGE <br /> III DISCUSSION OF THE ISSUE OF HUNTING .Continued : <br /> Joseph. Souza, Jr. Forest and Parks Supervi-s- r presented his <br /> written report relative to the x.998 99 hunt Lng season . Mr. <br /> Kirsner read the report to the committee , <br /> Mr . Souza indicated there had been no major problems during <br /> the' past hunting season . He recommended that h.e. dial not believe <br /> there was any reed to curtail hunting activities: at South Cape <br /> Beach at this time. <br /> No re-presentative from DEM attended this meet ing * <br /> No Police Report {was_ available . <br /> IV DISCUSSION OF 10A SITE : <br /> Chm. I it ner brought the committee up to date . He explained , <br /> with the loss of Rep . Cah-ir, we do not have th.e support with <br /> the State that we previously had'. Mr . Kirs-ner has h-ad several <br /> discussions with. a member of Sen . Rauch-enbach.' s office . He had <br /> orw,arded copies of the Agreement , th-e legislation that w-as pro- <br /> pos-ed , and all of the reasons why it was not appropriate and in- <br /> consistent with the Agreement . <br /> Th.e understanding was that new. legislation would be drawn, con- <br /> sistent with the teras of the Agreement . Th.ere has been diffi- <br /> culty setting up an appointment . <br /> Ch. Kirsner stated that -e believed th.at we should have our <br /> newly-elected representative, Nancy Ca fy-n contacted so that <br /> we can have her support to more this issue ahead . <br /> Mr . Kirsmer h-as- an appointment with a Mr , Alo.ts..i, who is a <br /> drafter of Legislation. At thAs particular point of time , he <br /> seems agreeable to what has been recommended . <br /> Morris atated he would like to move forward on th-lis IA site, <br /> and have it resolved . The Agreement is very clear; it belongs , <br /> and should be conveyed to the Town of I ashpee . In the. absence <br /> f any- legislation to do that , there should be a lease established <br /> for 100 years . <br /> Dorris hopes that by the next sheduled meeting , he will be able <br /> to communicate more positive information on this issue . <br /> As has b-een suggested by Jack Cramer , Morris will send a package <br /> relative to the legislation to Nancy Caff n , and hope to elicit <br /> h.er interest and assistance . <br />
