He is essentially alone on the job. He also said that
he may have difficulty hiring staff both permanent and seasonal at such low wages
as $5.50 per hour. He was unable to hire his full allotment of staff last year.
Joe reported that portable toilets at the beach parking have been repeatedly
vandalized. Joe pointed out that he and his staff were attached to the Reserve.
Joe is planning to open the gates to the Park on Memorial Day weekend. He
expects to have the Life Guards on duty about June 6.
The maintainance of the beach access walk and ramps was brought up by Bill
Martiros. There is a lot of sand which needs to be removed. Joe said until he gets
help he will not be able to clear the sand off.
Discussions and Recommendations:
The Park Management Sub-Committee discussed how the Advisory Committee
might help the State Park.
