Jeri
Smith reported complaints about the condition of the parking lot, as well. Also, there was
only one buoy In the water, not two, to keep water craft from entering the swimming area.
Gus Frederick suggested forming a subcommittee to address the issues concerning the
condition of the park in preparation for next summer. All were in agreement that action
needed to be taken by the Committee to improve the conditions at the Park.
PROPOSED LETTER CONCERNING PARK LAND (See Attachment A).
Jeri Smith distributed a draft of a letter she had prepared, to address the concerns that the
Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is seeking to acquire all or a portion of the 532 acres that
compose the South Cape Beach State Park. A copy of the revised letter is attached to
these minutes.
TO WHOM SHOULD THE LETTER BE SENT(See Attachment B)
The committee felt that the letter should go to all the State representatives including Jeff
Perry and Theresa Murray, as well as the State Governor. A list of addresses is attached
to these minutes.
NEXT MEETING DATES
The committee agreed to meet at the South Cape Beach State Park parking lot on
Thursday, August 3dh, at 4 PM to survey the existing conditions at the beach.
