Ms. Johnson-Graham expressed concern about impacts due to the current Federal <br /> Administration. <br /> The Chair noted that she had requested that Ms. Landry forward any requests for additional <br /> information about MIDC directly to her, so that she could follow up. In addition, the Falmouth <br /> Affirmative Action had reached out to learn more about how the MIDC was established. Ms. <br /> Waterman inquired whether it was necessary to add "Public Comment" to the agenda but the Chair <br /> responded that the Public was always welcome to attend the meetings. <br /> November Meeting Speaker-There was discussion about future planning and invitations to <br /> invite speakers. The Chair would be inviting the Police Chief to attend the next meeting. There was <br /> also discussion about Ebony Steele from the Villages, Veterans and someone from Massachusetts Cape <br /> Housing. Mr. Horner asked about pursuing parking spaces for Veterans and the Chair recommended <br /> that he draft a document to present to the Board of Selectmen and suggested that Selectman Cotton <br /> could assist. Ms. Johnson-Graham could also connect Mr. Horner with someone to help. <br /> Spreading the Word-Ms. Waterman suggested contacting Community Connections and the <br /> May Institute to reach out to individuals with disabilities. There was discussion regarding the <br /> possibility of hosting a panel of speakers. The Chair also recommended bringing together <br /> representatives from Homeowners Associations who may also be working with diversity issues. Ms. <br /> Johnson-Graham suggested the possibility of figuring out the good from a negative situation. Ms, <br /> Waterman suggested seeking out challenges and recommendations from various groups. Ms. Nadeau <br /> suggested hosting events at a variety of locations such as the Tribal Government Building or the Senior <br /> Center. Mr. Horner referenced a program he developed, "Where I Stand," as a tool that could be used <br /> to create an open dialogue. The Chair recommended that Mr. Horner provide a write-up about the <br /> activity. <br /> Chairwoman Stevenson reminded Committee members the importance of keeping separate personal <br /> views and MIDC views, keeping in line with the Policy/Purpose, Contacts were needed to be <br /> identified on the Committee, in order to reach out to potential partners, such as the Library or the <br /> School, much tike a liaison. <br /> School-Mr. Gonsalves& Ms. DeBoer <br /> Wampanoag Tribe-Ms. Johnson-Graham <br /> Ebony Steele/The Village& Boys & Girls Club-Ms. Nadeau <br /> Veterans-Mr. Horner <br /> Seniors-Ms. Waterman & Ms. Brown. <br /> Library-Ms. Wilson <br /> Social Media-Ms. Doyle <br /> Ms. Waterman inquired about updates to the Town's website. There was discussion about contacting <br /> the IT department to make changes to the text and to request an email address. <br /> Moving forward, the Chair suggested that she would add "Member Reports" to the agenda so that <br /> members could update the Committee on any of their contacts. Ms. Nadeau suggested that the next <br /> meeting include further discussion of ideas and ways to develop a list. <br /> Mr. Horner discussed his program he created for financial literacy and the Chair responded that <br /> perhaps the school would be interested as part of their"Credit for Life" program.
