<br />Thursday, Mashpee Town Hall , 2018August 9 <br /> <br /> <br />Conservation Commission Minutes <br />Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Dale McKay, Chad Smith, Thomas O’Neill, Charles Dalton, <br />Steve Cook, Stephanie Simpson <br /> <br />Also Present: Andrew McManus, Conservation Agent and Judy Daigneault, <br />Recording Secretary <br /> <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER: 5:55 p.m. <br /> <br />The Meeting was called to order by Chairman Dale McKay at 5:55 p.m. <br /> <br />No comments from the public <br /> <br />PRE/POST-HEARING AGENDA: <br /> <br />Minutes: Approve July 12 and July 26 Minutes <br /> <br />Motion: Mr. Smith moved to approve the July 12, 2018 minutes, seconded by Mr. O’Neill. <br />Vote 3-1 with Charles Dalton abstaining. <br /> <br />Motion: Mr. Smith moved to approve the July 26, 2018 minutes, seconded by Mr. O’Neill. <br />Vote 3-1 with Mr. Dalton abstaining <br /> <br />The Agent reviewed some of the projects Katelyn Cadoret, Assistant Conservation Agent, has been <br />working on. He noted Katelyn and Olivia (an intern volunteer) set up a booth at the Barnstable <br />County Fair to educate people on the pollinator gardens and land steward program. They received <br />rd <br />a 3 place ribbon for their efforts. He stated Katelyn has applied for Individual Placement from <br />AmeriCorps which is separate from the volunteer program. This person will work one or two days a <br />week and work with a given department. The individual will split their time between Conservation <br />and the Department of Natural Resources. <br /> <br />He noted DPW dropped off a load of bark mulch at Santuit Pond and will spread it next week. He <br />said the cover of mulch will preserve some of the moisture for the trees and shrubs that were recently <br />planted at the site. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br />(This space is reserved for topics that the Chairman did not reasonably anticipate would be <br />discussed). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
