# 4 Gold Leaf, Pine Trees-The two pine trees and three trunks were located behind buildings and
adjacent to a parking lot. The Chair and vice Chair felt that the trees could be removed and that the
area was forested with juvenile trees so replacement would be unnecessary.
#64 Gold Leaf, Oak Tree-The dead ole was located too close to a home and should he removed.
The area was forested with young trees so replacement would be unnecessary.
#49 Gold Leaf-The diseased tree was located near the front door of a home and was likely damaged
by a retaining well. It was noted that 3 oaks were located in the well pit and it was suggested that
the boulders may have been placed on the roots damaging the trees. The Chair reported that the
Association was provided an option to consider all the trees with the possibility of re-landscaping
the entire pit since the other 2 trees were expected to die. Ms. Baker reported that a specific tree
had not yet been identified but that they were considering a maple tree or some sort of ornamental
tree. The Association determined that ] tree located in the center would replace the 3 trees. The
Chair noted that the dammed tree is very close to the home. The Chair and Mr. Balzrini supported
Ms.-Baker's suggestion that l tree replace the 3 trees. Mr. Fudala inquired whether a sire
requirement should be specified for the tree. IVIS. Baker responded that her intention was not to
replace the tree with a small tree.
Board members discussed the use of the yells to preserve the trees ten years ago. Mr. Petersen
noted that trees would need to be outside of the drip zone in order to sage the trees. Mr. Petersen
recommended that the Association consider trees around a 4 inch caliper because it would improve
the likelihood of its survival. Mr. Fudala stated that the locations where trees need to be replaced
would be accessible.
#35 Gold Leaf-The dead oak was located in a very tight area, looted close to the home and
utilities. The Chair stated that the tree did not fait in with the surrounding evergreens. Ms. Baker
reported that the arborist suggested not replacing the tree because it was too close to the house, the
driveway and the utility box and that existing evergreens were already located in the space. The
Chair and Mr. Balzarini agreed to accept the arborist's recommendation.
Mr. Petersen recommended that the Association ask the arborist about shrubs that could grow to
approximately 6 feet, such as a black chokeberry, that could provide screening and would not be
oversized.
#14 Bob White Cre een -A beautiful pine has been growing out of the oak gees and the
Association has recommended removing the pine. The Chair and Vice Chair recommended that the
oak be trimmed and that the arborist be asked if the pine is causing harm to the oak and also-to
contact the homeowner. Ibis. Baker provided a letter from the homeowner to the Board which states
preference to have the pine removed. Ms. Baker reported that the arboda felt that the oak was
healthy tree.
Oak Near Bob white Crescent umpster--T"he dead oak was looted in a heavily wooded open
space and the Chair and Mr. Balzarini felt it would be o.k. to remove the tree without a replacement.
Pine Next to Old Post Office-The dead tree was looted adjacent to a nice storage building. Since
the area was heavily forested, the Chair and the vice Cahir agreed that the tree be removed due to
the potential for a dangerous situation and that no replacement would be necessary.
3
