Alashpee Planning Board <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> September 7,2011 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> Selectmen's Meeting Room,, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> CALIF To ORDER <br /> The Town of llashpee Planning Board meeting was opened with a quorum in the Selectmen's <br /> Meeting Room at A4a tepee Town Hall by Chairman Way an at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, <br /> nesday, <br /> September 7, 2011 and the Pledge of Allegiance w ted, <br /> Planning Board Members Present; Chairman II my Waygan, Vice Chair Joe Mullin, Clerk <br /> George Petersen, Dennis B alari ni, David Ioohari n <br /> Also Present: Tom Fudala-Town Planner, CharlesRowley-Consultant Engineer <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES August 17, 2011 <br /> MOTION: Mr. Kooharian made a motion wept the minutes ,august 17 r. <br /> Bal arinl seconded the motion. AD voted unanimously. <br /> Co11 REHENS11 E PLAID <br /> Health and Hunan Services Element Drat <br /> Members of the Human Services Committee were present to include Gail Wilson, pilary Scanlan, <br /> Ellie Glener and Ruth Elias. Ms. Wilson started that she had been in the position of Human Service <br /> Director for 3 years., adding that the Health and Human Semices Plan had not been updated in 1 <br /> years. Ms_ Nilson reported that the Human Service Council, consisting of various agencies <br /> servicing-the needs of Ma hpee residents, met weekly with Ms. Wilson. Town concerns were <br /> expressed at the meetings which assisted in developing the Health and Human Services Element. <br /> Ms. Wilson noted that new projects, such as the Hoarding Task Force, had been incorporated into <br /> the plan_ <br /> Chairman fi ay an highlighted the contents of the document. Ms. Wilson referenced page 13 listing <br /> the existing contracts for the Human Services Department. Ms. Scanlan clarified that agencies on <br /> Cape at one time requested funds from 1 lashpee Town Meeting but that the Human Services <br /> Department now evaluated each of the requests for funds. Ms. Wilson added that some <br /> representatives attend the weekly Human Service Council meetings but also that on-site visits assess <br /> the ways in which the agencies provide to the residents of Mashpee. <br /> Mr. ` inquired about figures listed on page 6 for the agimg population and questioned the <br /> accuracy of the 2010 and 2020 numbers_ Chairman Waygan noted that the Nfiser Projection may <br /> have frozen the population figure, Ms. Scanlan read the objectives of the Hunan Services <br /> Committee that more clearly identifies the goals of the Committee. Chairman waygan inquired <br /> about what specifically was addressed in the plan for the senior popbffion- Ms. Wilson responded <br /> that the overall plan included the.senior population, from suicide prevention to counseling to <br /> addressing hoarding issues. <br /> The Chair stated her support of the element, the goals and objectives, and the action plan. Mr. <br /> Fudala suggested that the goals and objectives listed on pages 4 and 5 needed to appear as two <br /> separate items and the Chair agreed. Ms. Wilson responded that the previous plan had been <br /> reviewed, reformatted and updated to reflect the current goals and objectives, adding current <br /> 1 <br />
