The council then discussed some of the benefits of different scheduling approaches for conferences and for professional developtent• Where are some advantages providing professional development meetings duringthe year vs. two days at the beginning and � two at the end of the school year) . Mr. Feldman feels that the teachers' main desire is for quality programs. All of the options should be reviewed. Mr. Feldman requested that the council consider the different scheduling options for parent conferences and the scheduling and provision of professional development days for the next school year. e would like these two items discussed at the next meeting of this council . we can thea make a recommendation to the school committee and the superintendent Letters to State and Local ffic*alsa. , Mr. Feldman seat a letter to town officials department heads and invited them to visit the school and to make presentation outlining their departments to the children in grade three, ms, Cook states that four department heads have already replied and have stated their interest. b Mr. Feldman received a letter from Governor Weld, as well as some informational material on the voluntary Services Leave Program. As part of Education Reform, state employees are allowed one day off, with pay, t to work with the schools. Mr. Feldman has sent letters about 20 state agencies (along with a copy of the Governor's letter) inviting their participation. . Chamber of Commerce Breakfast. Mr. Feldman will be meeting with the Chamber on January 17 , Senior Citizens Computer Classes . A croup f town senior citizens will providing ll be a computer- class for the third graders. Another program being set up, thanks to the c o g g uracil on A in , will be an intergenerational chorus.
