COOMBS SCHOOL COUNCIL <br /> Minutes of the December 3,1996 Meeting <br /> Present: Sandra Dawes Sandra Balsebre <br /> Chris Robello, Karen Berube <br /> Florence Cragwell Ellen Davis <br /> Molly Reis Nick Feldman <br /> Visitors: Marykate O"Bden <br /> Mr. Feldman called the meeting to order at 6:30p.m. <br /> 1. The minutes of the October 16,1996 meeting were approved as printed with <br /> one addition. Karen Berube was present at that meeting/ <br /> 2. No comments were received from the public during Open Forum. <br /> 3. Mr. Feldman introduced Florins Cr agwell and Molly Reis to Council members <br /> present as they were unable to attend the October meeting <br /> 4. Chris Robello and Karen Berube attended a Council Training Session in <br /> Mansfield in October. They reported on that meeting highlighting the importance on <br /> communication. They stressed the need of the School Council to dialogue with the <br /> community. One of the goals of our School Improvement Plan is to involve the <br /> business community of Mashpee in our school. The meeting gave some guidelines for <br /> doing this successfully. Some of them include being clear and concise about what you <br /> want from everyone you seek help from,doing a needs assessment,andknowing <br /> where you are and what you need brtore you ask for help. <br /> 5. The draft of the School Improvemerrt Plan was reviewed. It was decided that <br /> the Plan needed a different format, but that the wording was appropriate. The new <br /> format %*roufd places :he Long Temp Goals(from page 1) and corresponding <br />� implementation strategies(From Page 2) #ogether.{See Secretary's Dopy for clarity!!} <br /> MOTION: Karen Berube 2nd <br /> To support the School Improvement Plan of the Kenneth C. Coombs <br /> School. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> The Plan will be presented to the School Committee at its' January meeting. <br /> fi. The next Council meeting will be January 28,1997 at 6:30p.m. <br /> 7. The meeting Adjourned at 8:1 Op.m. <br />
