Coombs School Conference Room. <br /> Members in attendance were: Louise Doyle, Christy Ridgley, Jennifer LeFavor, Linda Kot, Kathleen <br /> Penney, Lois Hirshberg, and Lauretta Leone. <br /> Present for Open Forum: Jean Burtis. <br /> Open Forum discussion centered on the need for identity badges for recess monitors. A. <br /> gentleman had been seen walking between schools. Due to lack badge or other identification, <br /> a parent was concerned regarding his identity. <br /> The minutes of the October 26, 2000 meeting were read and approved. Motion to accept minutes <br /> was made by Kathleen Penney and seconded by Linda Kot. Unanimous. <br /> Louise Doyle went over the FY-2002 Budget-Staff Projections. 1n addition to the stff positions <br /> listed in the October 2e minutes, 3 additional positions were proposed: <br /> (1.0)FTE ESL Teacher <br /> (1.0)FTEGuidance Councilor if the Asst. Principal position is not staffed <br /> Additional Recess Monitor <br /> The 2001 School Improvement Plan was reviewed: <br /> CORE VALUE ##1. Home School Connection ; <br /> Vision—Staff will establish activities to improve home/school/community <br /> cooperation in the learning of students. <br /> CORE VALUE #2. Reading: <br /> Vision: Student will improve their reading competency at all grade levels. <br /> CORE VALUE ##3. Writing- <br /> Vision- Students will be engaged in a unified, continuous approach to strengthen <br /> their writing skills. <br /> CORE VALUE #4. Learning &Productivity: <br /> Vision—A series of regular, academic and social activities Will be formulated to <br /> enhance learning opportunities and contribute to a vibrant school climate. <br /> CORE VALUE #5. Mathematics: <br /> Vision— Students will solve problems using strategies that demonstrate <br /> mathematical understanding. <br /> Louise Doyle informed the council that there is still $15,000.00 needed for the playground <br /> purchase. The P.T.O. is working on some ways to raise the additional funds. <br />
