K.C. COOMBS SCHOOL SCHOOL COUNCIL METING SACH 2 ,2001 ENDED The K.C. Coombs School Council attended the Budget Meeting with other Town Departments prior to the formal monthly meeting. The meeting was then called to order at approximately ' : op.m. in a conference room on the lower level of Town Mall following a joint meeting of the Selectmen, Finance Committee and School Committee. Members i1ri attendance were: Louise Doyle, Christy Ridgley, Linda Kot,Kathleen Fenney, Lois Hirshberg, Jennifer La Favor and Lauretta Leone. No one was present for Open Forum. The January and February minutes were approved. Motion to accept minutes was made by Kathleen Penney and seconded by Lauretta E. Leone. Unanimous. Louise Doyle brought the council up to date on the re-design of the K-2 report card. The Report Card Committee's next meetffig will he held Tuesday, April 3, 2001. i The committee is planning to present the revised report card to the School Committee at the.May meeting so that it may he voted on at the June meeting of the School `here was a discussion regarding the lunch program. The revenues from the lunch program are down and Chartwells is having difficulty under the present system. A new system is being developed that would give a better breakdown of homer many lunches are being purchased at full price, reduced price, and free of charge. Snap cards are being considered as an alternative method of keeping track of and paying for lunches in the future. It is hoped that this would encourage greater participation by the children.
