K.C. Coombs School School Council.-Meeting February 6, 2002 The meeting was called to order at 6:10PM i n the K.C.C. conference room. Present at the meeting were: Louise Doyle, Paul Sinith, Kathleen Penney, Diane Cook, Greg Taylor, Alison Robbins, Linda Kot, Karen Murphy and Jennifer LeFavor. I. There weren't any open forum items on the agenda. II. Minutes of the January 16`' meeting were approved. III. The budget process will be moving quickly, since it is due by mid- March. There was a concern due to the fact Governor Swift proposed a 10% overall cut in educational funding. IV. Countdown to Kindergarten — deadline for completion of packets is March 1$`. ♦ Rocket.motif with monthly functions for parents beginning in March. ♦ Registration process begins March 12'h; 13`x', and 14"'. Free tickets to the Children's Museum in Mashpee will be given to those who register in March. ♦ Registration in March will allow for screening in June with the parents. Presently, screening takes place the first day of school. ♦ Town hall has supplied mailing labels of families with children entering kindergarten so we know proposed enrollment. ♦ May - Kindergarten here we come! Parents will meet with Mrs. Doyle from 6:00 - 6:30PM and may tour the school from 6:30 -- 7:30PM. ♦ June 70' - Coffee with Friends. This will allow parents to meet and get to know one another. ♦ Late August — Outdoor picnic. This will allow the children to see who will be their classmates. They will also ride a school bus.at this time. September 9h — Adphabetteally, at a desig-n-ated time, kindergarten students will come to school for approximately one hour. ♦ September 10`t' — First ffill day of kindergarten.
