Coombs School <br /> School Council Meeting <br /> February 1 , 2003 <br /> The meeting was called to order at : PM in the I .C.C. conference room. <br /> Present at the meeting were Louise Doyle, Linda Kot, Jennifer Le Favor, Kathleen <br /> Penney, Diane Cooly and Karen Tessicini. <br /> { <br /> I. open Forum <br /> There weren't any open forum items on the agenda. <br /> H. Approval of January Minutes <br /> January minutes were approved with minor revisions. Unanimous. <br /> III. Budget Update <br /> A. Meetings are now just beginning. we need to cut an additional <br /> 290X0.00. We do not have a bottom line figure, however, state grants <br /> may not be available next year. <br /> B. Kindergarten registration is also just beginning. Packets have been <br /> distributed for Kindergarten and we are estimating the same amount of <br /> children will be starting kindergarten in September, 2003. <br /> IV. School Improvement Plan - - C.H.I.P.S. (Child Identification Program) <br /> The Masons will be willing to assist again this year with the program. Teachers, <br /> police, parents, dentists, andP.T.O. will be involved. we are discussing <br /> program that may be easier to coordinate this year. It was suggested that parents <br /> corm in via alphabetical order. The program may tame place during math science <br /> night or the ice cream social/book swap. The second floor may be used for the <br /> C.I .I. .S. program. Last year the lits were not put together, this year Kits will he <br /> put together prior to the program in order to save time. <br /> V. Parent Letters <br /> A. A letter was seat home on February 10, 2003, concerning the numerous <br /> parent requests for a specific teacher. These requests do not allow f o <br /> pro placement of students and mut be the decision o the educational <br /> proper <br /> professionals-at the school. Mrs. Doyle has received some feedback from <br /> parents. There has been both praise and concern regarding this procedure. <br /> All letters and calls will be addressed. <br /> B. A letter concerning immunization ation vias seat home to all students who have <br /> not been fully vaccinated. Approximately 15 children have not been fully <br /> vaccinated and their names have been sent to the superintendent's f fi e. <br /> Mrs. Parolski will send home ars exclusion letter. Monday, February 24th <br /> is the deadline for students to be fully vaccinated. Students without full <br /> immunization will not be allowed to attend class after this date until <br /> proper documentation is provided to the school health office personnel <br /> according to law. <br />
