K.C. Coombs School Council <br /> 'Minu s <br /> M 4-04/KCC Conference Room <br /> I fleeting was called to order at 3-31 p.m. No one was present for Open FORIM. Members <br /> Present: Jennifer LeFavor, Rebecca Ronikey,Michelle Lewis-Ride, JR hell, C 1Tie Burlein-Pitz, <br /> David Pocknett, Patricia I artolomei, Maria Martone, Karen Tessciini, l.. Doyle. Not present- <br /> Calean LaCroix, lathy Penney, Allison Robbins <br /> II December minutes were read. Michelle Lewis-Rice motioned to accept, Becky Romkey <br /> seconded, and the minutes were unanimously approved. <br /> III Capital Improvement Plan update: Administration recently presented CIP items to town <br /> officials <br /> 1. Schools driveway improvement was removed and absorbed by current year DPW <br /> pro#ects. This significantly reduces CIP budget proposal <br /> Additional school wing inchrdes bathrooms, special edL1catton rooms and <br /> teacher workroom) was also presented to town hall and remains in the CIP. A <br /> -feasibility study on this in-ipr'ovement may be done. SPED space is very limited <br /> at this time as needs of students contim e to change. Bathroom need is also <br /> significant due to age/reed of children <br /> . Other items remaining on CIP proposal are flooring, storage space, pluses of the <br /> safety/security plan, and computers for classrooms <br /> . Storage/recycling of old COMPLIters was discussed. <br /> . All school council members are encouraged to attend School Committee Finance <br /> meeting on Wednesday January 21, at 6:30 pm 117'MB.S library. <br /> Iv Staffing for 2005 was discUssd. ] clow level funding budget is being considered at this <br /> time <br /> 1. Reniedi l 'Math Teacher needed for I CC <br /> . Critical elements to staffing for 2005 included K Paraprofessional, Early Childhood <br /> Coordinator-position, V2 tirne K teacher(under K grant) and full time K teacher <br /> (under class size reduction grant) <br /> . Accreditation may be lost without current K staffing and environmental space <br /> impacts. <br /> Countdown to Kindergarten -for 04/05 in progress. K program will be heavily reduced if <br /> the K Coordinator Position is not supported. One possibility is removing one teacher dale <br /> to lower enrollment, and sUpporting Coordinator position with funds. <br /> fI Report Cards <br /> Report cards are due Januar 26"' There was a question of Davin ort cards in <br /> p g report <br /> Feb and June rather than January.
