K.C. Coombs School Council <br /> 4 <br /> Minutes <br /> May 12, 2004 <br /> There was no one present for Open Forum. <br /> Present at the meeting were Maria Marione, Patricia Bartolomeo, Louise Doyle, Alison <br /> Robbins, Colleen LaCroix, Beeley Romkey, Carrie urlein-Pitz, Michelle Lewis Rice, <br /> David Po knett. Absent were: JR Mell, Karen Tessiclni, Kathleen Penney, and Jennifer <br /> LeFavor <br /> The April 2 , 2004 meeting minutes were unanimously accepted. <br /> The ICC Handbook revised draft was reviewed, and changes were noted accordingly. <br /> The School Improvement Plan was reviewed. Highlights for the plan include increasing <br /> importance of Language Arts, Reading, and Writing by the following: <br /> -90 minute uninternipted English language blocks for all student <br /> -Year long reading incentives <br /> -Professional al d elo ment on literacy centers <br /> -Reading A-Z. oro- request for site licenses for all teachers. <br /> -Assessment driven instruction <br /> Other business was discussed, which included a new school sign, along with letters <br /> spelling out the Kenneth C.
