COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> MEETING JULY 11, 2018 <br /> MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Marijo Gorney, Jean Noussee, <br /> Virginia McIntyre, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman <br /> Absent: Mary Gaffney, Norah McCormick <br /> Chairman David Egel opened the meeting at 8.30 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 13, 2018 <br /> Motion: Jean Noussee moved to approve the June 13, 2018 minutes, seconded <br /> by Marijo Gorney. Vote 3-1 with Mr. Egel abstaining <br /> Public Comment— None <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Director's Report <br /> The Director distributed her report for the month of June. She highlighted she met with <br /> several leaders of various ongoing activities and noted an additional SHINE Counselor <br /> recently began assisting Mashpee Seniors at the Senior Center. She and the Activity <br /> Coordinator met with a member of the Friends of the Council on Aging to discuss a <br /> possible future fashion show at the Senior Center and also with the support group <br /> leader of a local hospice to schedule a fall grief support group. The Director, the <br /> Outreach Coordinator, and the minibus driver met for their monthly meeting. <br /> The Director thanked the DPW staff for their assistance with repairs to the building's <br /> cooling system. She noted the DPW arranged for all the lighting at the Senior Center to <br /> be replaced with energy efficient lighting. <br /> The Director stated she participated in interviews for the Outreach Coordinator position <br /> and until a new Outreach Coordinator is hired, she will be assuming some of the duties <br /> of the position. She thanked the Outreach Coordinator Darlene Perkins, who retired. <br /> The Director thanked the Volunteer and Program Support Coordinator for all her work <br /> on the recognition event held in June. She also thanked the Library Director for all her <br /> efforts in making this year's volunteer event successful. <br />
