HPEE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE <br /> AHPEL Towle HALL 2:00 p.m. <br /> Present: Robert Wooldridge, Charles Maintanis, Michele Brady, Sidney Davis,, John Cotton <br /> Called to order: The meeting was called to order at 2-.05 p.m., by Chairman Robert Wooldridge <br /> Approval of Minutes November 16, 2016 <br /> Motion: Michele Brady moved to approve the minutes of November 16, 2016, seconded b <br /> Charlie Maintainis. vote 4-0 <br /> Discuss the Latest Information on the Handicapped Parking Situation, <br /> The Chair stated he hasn't heard from. the Town Manager on the parking situations at I ashpee <br /> Commons. Mir. Cotton said he will be attending a meeting at Mashpee Commons Thursday <br /> evening and will bring up the parking issues at the Dost office and Sienna. <br /> Discuss proposal to request AAB and MoD representatives to conduct site visit to Mash p ee <br /> Commons to examine handicapped parking and accessibility of expansion project, <br /> The Chair noted his concerns about the new expansion project at Mashpee Commons as far as <br /> accessibility goes. He sent Tom Feronti an email a couple of months ago asking if some of the <br /> members of the committee could take a walkthrough the housing units especially the ones that <br /> are accessible and we were told not during construction but we could when they put them up for <br /> occupancy which would be too late to address any issues. The Chair said he is not swing there <br /> is anything that doesn't meet the standards in the residential units but dust doesn't know. His <br /> other concern is the slope going up the hill to the units. He is trying to get some answers on what <br /> they are planning to do about that. Charlie Maintanis said in the building code we could request <br /> plan review from International Code Counsel; The Cbair said he would like to get some other <br /> views on it from someone who has authority over such matters. There was a discussion as to <br /> whether or not to contact AAB and 11 0D and it was agreed to contact them after discussing it <br /> with the Town Manager. It was noted that the AAB is an enforcement agency and MOD is an <br /> advisory board. Charlie said he cannot speak to the ADA but anyone can fire a civil complaint <br /> with then.. <br /> Dise- uss Proposed second story addition at the New eabut-y Reach Club* <br /> The Chair said the General Manager from the New Seabury Beach Club has been verb' <br /> cooperative. They are redesigning and reconstructing the ramp down to the beach* This should <br /> be done by the beach season. Charlie said they are also proposing other proJects and a new one <br /> is a second story on the beach club which is going to be accessible. He will follow up on this. <br />
