Taylor <br /> Absent: Allan Isbitz, Chris Avis <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Sherman at 6:00 p.m, <br /> Ocicway Bay Meeting Room, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Discussion and Approval of Submission of an Application to the Community Preservation Committee <br /> to Request Community Preservation Act Funds for Affordable Housing be Set Aside and Transferred <br /> to the Affordable Housing Trust: <br /> Members of the Affordable Housing Trust (AHT) met in joint convention for the purpose of <br /> submitting an application to the Community Preservation Committee for funding to expedite the <br /> process of creating and preserving affordable housing in the Town of Mashpee. A formal vote of the <br /> Trust is required for the application submission. <br /> The Town of Mashpee realizes the importance of creating and preserving affordable housing <br /> opportunities and the need to become proactive in considering the significance of the affordable <br /> housing challenge. Currently, 5.2% of Mashpee dwelling units reside on the Subsidized Housing <br /> Inventory. The goal of this project is to achieve a minimum of 10% of units on the inventory as per the <br /> approved Housing Production Plan. <br /> The application has received a letter of support from the Affordable Housing Committee and from the <br /> Town Planner. Bud Abbott of the Affordable Housing Committee and Evan Lehrer the Town Planner <br /> were in attendance to express support of this application proposed to foster a streamlined and efficient <br /> process in facing the dire affordable housing crisis in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Discussion followed regarding the use of available CPA funding and of the 10%reserves set aside <br /> annually by the CPC for Affordable Housing purposes. <br />
