Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 10, 1997 <br /> PUBLIC COMUM <br /> Charles Costello,President of the Mashpee Environmental Coalition <br /> (MEQ, urged the Board to support the Board of Health's request for <br /> funding to employ the services of Weston and Sampson to review the <br /> proposed remediation plan and design submitted by Augat to the <br /> Department of Environmental Protection. <br /> 1r. Costello stated that spills could have occurred seventeen years ago. <br /> The plume is presently headed in the direction of Shoestring Bay, It <br /> is important for the Torn to get involved to find out what is going on <br /> indicated Mr. Costello. <br /> In response, Selectman Costa indicated that this matter is presently on <br /> the Selectmen's men's agenda for review. <br /> Mane Mulvey presented a proposed Town Meeting article to amend the <br /> Zoning Bylaws to restrict Adult Uses to the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Ms. Mulvey requested the Board review the article for placement on the <br /> May Town Meeting warrant rather than present the article by petition. <br /> The Board authorized Town Counsel to conduct legal review of the <br /> article as proposed for consideration to be placed on the Town Meeting <br /> warrant as requested. <br /> Maureen Paxton requested that representatives from the Board of <br /> Selectmen meet with concerned residents to discuss the Bylaw process <br /> for Adult Use zoning. <br /> As concerned citizens, we would like to reduce the negative secondary <br /> effects of these establishments indicated Ms. Paxton. It is our intention <br /> to male Mashpee a clean, safe and healthy environment for our <br /> community. <br /> The Board directed Ms. Paxton to address her concerns in writing to the <br /> Selectmen's Office, It was suggested that a representative from the <br /> Board of Selectmen,Planning Department,artment,Police Department, and the <br /> Executive Secretary meet with the concerned residents to discuss this <br /> matter further. <br />
