F Page <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 10, 1997 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Memorandum from Chief of.Police ire: Waiver of Probationary period: <br /> Chief Przybylek discussed his memorandum to the Board relative to <br /> the probation period waiver of Administrative Secretary,Barbara Costello <br /> for the purpose of sick and vacation leave only. <br /> As noted, the employee was appointed to her current position, effective <br /> March 3, 1997. She had formerly served in the same position for <br /> approximately Fifteen months as a full-time employee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dini io to approve the Employee <br /> Probationary Period Waiver of Barbara Costello for sick <br /> and vacation leave benefits as recommended. <br /> Notion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND N H.EAI IN <br /> •nmin��n�mj <br /> A 1 D le - QgUnly QQmmis5ionerRgs=Ulfing <br /> County.Government: <br /> Mary LeClair, Vice-Chaftman of the Barnstable County Conum*ssioners <br /> and Martine Meijering, l la.shpee's appointed representative were present <br /> to discuss the legislation filed by Senator Henri iauchenbach and others <br /> which proposes to restructure Barnstable County Government. <br /> Ms. LeClair summarized the regional government legislation proposed <br /> to transfer the powers and duties of Barnstable County Government to the <br /> Cape Cod Regional Government known as Barnstable County,transferring <br /> to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts,The Jail,Douse of Correction, <br /> The Registry of Deeds and certain Courthouses. <br /> Ms.LeClair indicated that any change in the Charter will go before the <br /> voters in a Cape wide referendum ballot vote. <br /> A list of services provided to the Town of Mashpee was presented to <br /> the Board of Selectmen. (enclosed) Services include; the Cape Cod <br /> Commission, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension,Health and Environment <br /> Department,Economic Development,Human Services, County Dredge <br /> Program, and Resource Development. <br /> Ms. LeClair noted that the E CD Septic Repair Program was first <br /> instituted in 1lashpee to assist low and moderate income residents. <br />
