w <br /> Page <br /> L <br /> L <br /> Board of selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 24, 1997 <br /> NEW-RUS-INESS; <br /> Rggpest of Communityn mmitt for <br /> One DaXIAme&Malt icen • <br /> Waiver of AIL Town Feea <br /> Public SafetyServices: <br /> t <br /> For disclosure, Selectman 1larsters indicated that he is a member of <br /> the Mashpee Community Concert Committee,Board of Directors, and <br /> will step down for the above discussion. <br /> Correspondence was received from Janes Vaccaro,President of the <br /> Mashpee Community Concert Committee,Inc. dated March 17, 1997 <br /> requesting the Board approve the annual Mashpee Night at the Fops on <br /> Saturday, July 26, 1997 with a rain date of July 27, 1997. <br /> It was noted that the popular event will be held at Mashpee Commons, <br /> and is open to the public. This is the only free concert of the Cape Cod <br /> Symphony, and will be followed by a spectacular firework display. <br /> The Board was requested to support the annual Mashpee Night at the Fops, <br /> s in the past, and grant a one-day wine and malt beverage license for the <br /> F event,waive all Town fees, and provide the necessary public safety services <br /> for the evening. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dinizio to approve the request of <br /> the Mashpee Community Concert Committee for a one-day <br /> wine and malt beverage license, waiver of all Town fees, and <br /> provide public safety services for the event as described. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> Unanimous. 3- . <br /> Selectman Marsters abstained. <br /> PUBLIC COMMF 1T: <br /> Mashpee resident,Betty Nichols requested the Board name the specific <br /> Town Counsel when spewing of a member of Kopelman and Paige, P.C. <br /> In addition, Vis. Nichols suggested the Board become more aggressive, <br /> and pursue back taxes owed to the Town. It was noted that approximately <br /> $3 million is presently outstanding in delinquent tax receivables. <br /> Ills. Nichols stated that the Town could purchase necessary items such as <br />. cable television equipment with the funds recouped from back taxes. <br />
