r <br /> Page 5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 2 , 1997 <br /> CQMMMCATIONS AND RRBS1' ND 1 • <br /> Corresoondence from the Fire Chief Commendin Firefighters dor. <br /> Job Well Dore; <br /> Communication was received from Fire Chief, George Baker,dated <br /> April 24, 1997 in recognition of Firefighters Devin Long and Daniel Felly <br /> who were the first to arrive on site, and respond to a stubborn basement <br /> fire last week. <br /> Their prompt and courageous action saved the dwelling located at 189 <br /> Main Street, Mashpee from major destruction. Chief Baker stated that <br /> k he is thankful to the Board for re-instituting the Recall Policy that made a <br /> difference at this particular fire. <br /> In addition, the availability of a Mashpee Vater District fire hydrant <br /> proved beneficial. Chief Baker also reported that the Department's <br /> 1989 pumper is back into service after having major rehab and overhaul. <br /> Chief Baker will be consulted with regards to the appropriate method <br /> of complimenting Firefighter Long and Felly for their prompt and <br /> courageous action on behalf of the Board of Selectmen. Mr. Vhritenour <br /> ill attend to this matter on behalf of the Board. <br /> Luncheon: <br /> Members of the Board of Selectmen are invited to attend the annual <br /> luncheon at the Optimum Care Center on Friday, May 2, 1997 from <br /> 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. <br /> OLD BUSMSS: <br /> rr s rade e from South Cape Beach Mate Park Advisory Committee: <br /> Mom's K rsner, Chairman of the SCBAC submitted communication to <br /> the Board in a merino dated April 1 , 1997. The South Cape Beach <br /> Advisory Committee would like to move forward, and present an official <br /> request to the Department of Environmental Management to reserve, and <br /> transfer acre site to the Town. <br /> The site, located in the area of Great River, Vauoit Bay,for the future <br /> use and development by the Town is presented in Paragraph 17 of the <br /> Amendment Agreement between the Town of Mashpee, and the Cormnon- <br /> wealth of Massachusetts dated June, 198 1. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters. to move forward, and <br /> present an official request to DEM as recommended, <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. <br /> Unanimous. 5-0., <br />
