TAXA SERVICE <br /> Business Outline <br /> OVERVIEW <br /> The overall Cape Cod private transportation business has <br /> suffered from dechning ridership since the late 1980'x. This <br /> decline mirrors the decline felt by businesses tied to the seasonal <br /> tourist market. The Mashpee community tam needs are <br /> provided for by Falmouth Taxi Company licensed to do business <br /> in Mashpee under All Town Taxi. Currently they are tasking <br /> one (1) taxi on a shared basis with their F outh requirement. <br /> This can cause a significant wait time dor the Mashpee customer. <br /> On occasion All Town Taxi has imposed an additional or fixed <br /> rate to help offset its' travel costs to Mashpee. Current feeling <br /> among competitor taxi companies is that Mashpee cannot <br /> support community taxi service. This may result from the large <br /> number of summer only resident figures reflected in the 1990 <br /> census. I believe however, there are transportation business <br /> opportunities existing in Mashpee. I also believe that the <br /> community will support a company willing to commit and make <br /> a long term investment. This outline addresses some operation <br /> and service that Mashpee could support on a year round basis. <br /> Upper Cape Transportation Service Corporation (D.B.A.: <br /> Mashpee Taxi Services) can better fiU the Mashpee community <br /> transportation needs being wholly owned and operated from <br /> Mashpee. <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE <br /> Mashpee Taxi Services is seeking a business pennit to operate <br /> up to six (b) taxis in the Town of Mashpee. <br />
