COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> MEETING AUGUST 9, 2017 <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Jean Nousse , Manjo Dorney, <br /> Virginia McIntyre, Irving Goldberg, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman and <br /> Outreach Coordinator Darlene Pel+ldns. <br /> hsent: Mar �`raffi-ie ,Norah McCormick <br /> Also Present: Wayne Taylor, Assistant Town Manager <br /> Chairman David Egel opened the meeting at 835 a.m. <br /> r <br /> APPROVAL of MINUTES —July 1 , 2017 <br /> Motion+ Irving Goldberg moved to approve the minutes of July 12, 2017 as revised} <br /> seconded by Marlin Gorney. vote -0 <br /> Public Comments - None <br /> COMMUNICATIONSAND CORRE SPONDENCE <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> Director Lynne Waterman distributed her report for the month of July. The Director <br /> highlighted she met with several leaders of various. ongoing activities and met with the <br /> new volunteer leader of the Men's Club. The Director and the Activity Cooirdinator met <br /> with an art therapist/artist who will he conducting a program in the fall. The Director and <br /> the Activity Coordinator developed an activity survey that will be distributed to senior <br /> center participants <br /> The Director stated the vary has been operating on a reduced schedule due to the driver <br /> vacancy and she met with the Outreach Coordinator to conduct interviews for the mini- <br /> bus driver position. <br /> The Director thanked the DPW for several repairs they made and for assisting with <br /> setting up rooms for large events. <br /> The Director noted the FY 2018 formula grant application will be distributed by the <br /> Executive Office of Elder Affairs. The final dollar amount has not been finalized but it is <br /> anticipated that there will be a small reduction in the amount ire will receive which <br /> affects staffing, as three staff positions are paid for by this grunt. <br /> The Director,ii-let with a volunteer who agreed to assist with a decluttering support group <br /> and she and the Outreach Coordinator reset With a new volunteer who has been trained by <br /> the State as an alder adult mental health peer specialist. The Director reviewed a list of <br />
