Page 7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 9, 1997 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Acceptance of Bid for Food and Soft„Drink Concession;, <br /> Correspondence was received from Gus Frederick,Director of <br /> Leisure Services dated June 5, 1997 relative to the Beach'Concession Bid. <br /> It was noted that only one bid for concession services was received. <br /> Hyannis Ice Cream served as the Town's concessionaire last season, <br /> and submitted a bid of$2,107. It was noted that last years figure was <br /> $2,670. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to accept the bid as <br /> received from Hyannis Ice Cream, David Turo, owner for <br /> the sum of $2,107. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> TE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> The Board requested the Executive Secretary review the operation <br /> requirements, and conduct outreach efforts to develop a greater bid <br /> list for services for next season. <br /> Memo from Board of AV-Deals re: Dunkin Donuts: <br /> Correspondence was received from Edward Govoni, Chairman of the <br /> Board of Appeals dated June 4, 1997 relative to the proposed Dunkin <br /> Donuts to be located at 401 Main Street,Mashpee. <br /> The Board of Selectmen was invited to comment on the proposal prior <br /> to the Special Permit hearing on June 25, 1997. It was noted that the <br /> plan as proposed has been revised to reflect a reduction in size of the <br /> building. <br /> Discussion followed. The Board expressed concern with respect to <br /> area traffic congestion, the safety of pedestrians, and the preservation of <br /> the character of the area of town proposed for the new facility. <br /> In addition, a historical district may be proposed for the area of intent. <br /> Mr.Whritenour,Executive Secretary will draft a memo on behalf of the <br /> Selectmen addressing the above issues of concern. Comments will also <br /> be obtained from applicable Department Heads relative to this matter. <br /> Several members of the Board of Selectmen indicated that they will <br /> attend the Special Permit Hearing on June 25, 1397. <br />
