-z <br /> Page 2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 21, 1997 <br /> APPOENTMENTS AND BEARINGS: <br /> i <br /> Planning Bo d re: Local Comprehensive Plan: <br /> Patrick Coffey, Chairman of the Planning Board was present to <br /> discuss the status of the Local Comprehensive Plan with members of <br /> the Board and interested public. <br /> The master plan for the town has fourteen components informed <br /> Mr. Coffey. To date, twelve have been completed. Mr. Coffey presented <br /> drafts of the finished components to the Board of Selectmen. <br /> The Water Resources and Water&Wastewater Facilities is anticipated <br /> to be completed in July. The LCP element not underway is the Land Use <br /> &Growth Management element informed Mr. Coffey. <br /> It was noted that the DPW Director submitted a critical letter to the Planning <br /> Board with regards to the Transportation element of the LCP <br /> Mr. Taylor, Director of Public Works has been requested to submit <br /> specific comments and concerns in improving the element to the Planning <br /> Board indicated Mr. Coffey. <br /> Mr. Coffey recommended the Board consider creating a Special Town <br /> Meeting in the spring to thoroughly review the master plan. Its a lengthy <br /> process, and it is necessary to conduct public hearings to inform the public <br /> and allow the Cape Cod Commission to approve the final draft stated <br /> Mr. Coffey. <br /> Selectman Caffyn suggested to disperse each completed phase of the <br /> Local Comprehensive Plan to the citizens of Mashpee through the use of <br /> cable television and local Library access. <br /> Mr. Whritenour was authorized by the Board to work closely with the <br /> Planning Board, and promote public awareness to allow the residents to <br /> digest this matter before the actual approval process. <br /> In other business, Mr. Coffey indicated that four hearings have been held <br /> to review the Adult Uses zoning bylaw. After thorough review, the public <br /> does not feel that there is any particular location in Mashpee to be designated <br /> for adult uses. To date, there is no bylaw proposed informed Mr. Coffey. <br /> The Board directed the Planning Board to further review the Adult Uses <br /> Zoning bylaw, and consult the Town of Falmouth with respect to this <br /> concern. <br />
