Page 4 <br /> 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 21, 1997 <br /> MISR HIGH SCHOOL: <br /> Approval of Additional,Equipment,Procurement: <br /> Mr. Griffin recommended the Board approve the additional items <br /> required by the high school in the amount of$52,893.60. (enclosed) <br /> A surplus of$500,000 will remain in the high school budget upon <br /> approval of the above expenditure informed Mr. Griffin. It was noted <br /> that the surplus figure includes the technology equipment for phase II <br /> of the project scope. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the <br /> additional items required by the high school in the amount of <br /> $52,893.60 as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> TE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> NEW BUS INES S: <br /> Cape Light Comuact for Consideration: <br /> Joseph Dellagala, Mashpee`s representative to the Cape Light Compact <br /> was present to recommend the Board join the Compact for the purchase of <br /> basic services such as water supply, trash disposal and electricity. <br /> The Board reviewed the Inter-Governmental Agreement of the Cape Light <br /> Compact dated June 18, 1997. It was noted that eleven Cape communities <br /> have agreed to legally join the Compact. <br /> The local government will represent community interests and provide a <br /> "natural aggregator" function through which consumers may gain greater <br /> benefits in terms of contracts. Aggregated groups will be able to negotiate <br /> better rates and contract terms than an individual consumer. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dinizio to join the Cape Light <br /> Compact as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> TE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> It was noted that most of the Compact representatives are members of the <br /> Board of Selectmen from various towns. Town Counsel will be consulted <br /> with regards to indemnification, and proper appointment procedures. <br /> i:: <br />
