,i <br /> Page 11 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 8, 1997 <br /> MMR IS SUES: <br /> Selectman Caffyn indicated that ethylene dibromide(EDB)was recently <br /> detected in the surface water in the cranberry bogs along the Quashnet <br /> River. EDB is a component of aviation fuel. <br /> Selectman Caffyn requested the Board support the use of Bill Fisher, <br /> the Town's environmental consultant to brief the effected Town Department <br /> Heads and other officials about the contamination. <br /> A tentative meeting has been scheduled at 4:00 p.m. at the Town Hall <br /> with Mr. Fisher of Woodard&Curran on Tuesday informed Selectman <br /> Caffyn. <br /> Discussion followed. It was noted that information relative to the tainted <br /> cranberries was forwarded to Town Counsel. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to retain Mr. Fisher to <br /> follow up on this matter on behalf of the Town as requested. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Caffyn- <br /> VQ][ : <br /> Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Dinizio abstained. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to develop protocol to govern emergency <br /> and official meetings to include posting requirements and minutes. <br /> In other business,the Installation Restoration Program(IRP) meeting <br /> will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. at the Base. <br /> The Senior Management meeting will be held on the same date at 6:30 p.m. <br /> at the Quality Inn in Falmouth informed Selectman Caffyn. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Foodf r Friends Food D�nv Dav: <br /> S aturday, S eptember 13, 1997 at the S top&S hop in Mashpee. <br /> Selectman Frye will present a proclamation for the Food for Friends <br /> Food Drive Day on behalf of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> ADLQJMkMffiNT-: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to adjourn at 5:08 p.m. <br /> The Board will enter into Executive Session for the purpose <br /> of discussing correspondence from Town Counsel, and <br /> potential litigation. The Board will not resume in open <br /> Session. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOT : Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
