Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 13 <br /> October 20, 1997 <br /> AffD19EMEM AND BEAERM <br /> Jim-Sayjkr- SIQrm Qminhy&Aftemaliyga-,and-&melalion; <br /> Alternative A would use both extraction,treatment and reinjection <br /> (ETR)and recirculating well technologies. Extraction wells would be <br /> located northwest of Johns Pond along Hooppole Road. An extraction <br /> fence would be placed in the interior of the plume along Highland Avenue. <br /> Treated groundwater would be reinjected along Hooppole Road at <br /> a different depth. <br /> Alternative B would use ETR technology. Extraction wells would be placed <br /> northwest of Johns Fond along Hooppole Road. Treated groundwater <br /> would be reinjected along Hooppole road at a different depth or in a <br /> close-coupled reinjection well. <br /> Alternative C uses recirculating well technology. A line of recirculating wells <br /> would bep laced along Hooppole Road on the north side of Johns Pond. <br /> Alternative D uses ETR technology. An extraction well fence would be <br /> aligned with the direction of the groundwater flow in the body of the plume. <br /> Alternative E would use recirculating well technology as Alternative D. <br /> TWO additional recirculating wells would be installed along Hooppole <br /> Road tvp rovi.de for additional capture. <br /> Additional alternatives �would rel on the process of monitored natural <br /> attenuation. A no-action alternative would leave the site in its <br /> present condition without any remediation system installed. <br /> William Fisher,the Town's environmental consultant is expected <br /> w axn , <br /> to advise the Selectmen on the SD-5 plume prior to the comment <br /> deadline of November 21, 1997. <br />
