Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes 3 <br /> December 15, 1997 <br /> Monday,DtcgmL l 1997 e i n� <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the Regular <br /> Session minutes of Monday,December 1, 1997 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye, <br /> T Unanimous. 5.0. <br /> APP ,AND_fi1F.,jAJZW <br /> &a_n_n__.t_!_Ferragamo _Celebration_000: <br /> Joanne Ferragamo, Chairman of the Historical Commission indicated <br /> that a committee of local residents began meeting to plan Mashpee 2000, <br /> events commemorating the turn of the century. <br /> We are proposing to bring the community together to celebrate the new <br /> millennium, and are offering members of the Board of Selectmen the <br /> opportunity to become active participants informed Ms. Ferragamo. <br /> The events are scheduled to be held from December 311, 1999 through <br /> December 31, 2000. The non-profit organization is seeking community <br /> support to coordinate activities. To date,the Bach Center,Community <br /> Concert Committee,Leisure Services Department and School Department <br /> have offered assistance. <br /> The Selectmen were requested to consider using the property located <br /> next to the Archives building as a park. The area is recognized as the <br /> center of the town, and could be used as a veterans memorial,and for <br /> public speaking presentations. <br /> The committee meets on a regular basis on Mondays at the Cape Cod <br /> Five bank at 8:00 a.m. <br />
