Selectman Caffyn submitted cost estimates for the Town Hall water main project to the Board of Selectmen for review. The Town of Mashpee's share of the water maina ro'ect is estimated s. : P as follows: System Installation $73,1622.00 Street to Blg-Fees $ 29620.00 Contingency-Interest $ 3,600.00 total estimated cost $79,842.00 It was noted that theoriginal estimate of the Town Hall water main project was $130,000. Selectman Caffyn indicated that it is important to connect to Town water er to protect the financial investment of the new Town Hall renovation project. Selectman Caffyn suggested the Selectmen request the Capital Improvement eq p pro ement Committee to consider the water main as a capital improvement line item in their budget or perhaps develop an article for Town Meeting g ask n citizens . to support the prod ec t. It was noted that the system water main project could be paid for over several years. This would minimize the financial impact. Selectman Mills related concerns with respect to the commercial . sP connection and betterment fee's that appear substantially less than the Town's share of the project. Fire Chief Baker indicated that it is important torotect Town buildings. P He noted that he understands the financial budget constraints at this time. By regulation and by code,it is an option that is not required b statute stated Chief Baker. � Y It was noted that the Town Hall Building Committee has included the necessary plumbing for the fire suppression system into the firsthase f i P o the design of the building. Motion made by Selectman Mills to refer the matter of the Town Hall water main project to the Town Hall Building Committee for review and determination. Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. VQ Unanimous. 3-0.
