4 <br /> Page 4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> - Minutes <br /> F February 12, 1996 <br /> ." <br /> ApDobatment of li Di h r• <br /> Personnel Board members,Carole Dunivan and Norma Kumin were <br /> Present to discuss the appointment of a new full-time Public Safety <br /> Dispatcher with the Board of Selectmen. <br /> The Personnel Board submitted a recommendation to the Board in a memo <br /> dated February 8, 1996. It was noted that the Personnel Board interviewed <br /> three in-house candidates for the position. <br /> The candidates were ranked in the following order by the Personnel Board; <br /> ` 1. Alison Taylor-Kelley <br /> y y <br /> 2. Benjamin Perry, Jr. <br /> F <br /> 3. Stephen Tippo <br /> Communication was received from the Chief of Police dated <br /> February 9, 1996 also recommending appointment to fill the <br /> vacancy created by Dispatch Supervisor Scott Halligan when he was <br /> promoted. <br /> The Chief of Police ranked the candidates in the following order; <br /> 1. Stephen Tippo <br /> 2. Alison Taylor-Kelly <br /> 3. Benjamin Perry, Jr. <br /> Chief Przybylek recommended the appointment of Stephen Tippo as he <br /> is the senior dispatcher of the three candidates. <br /> It was noted that all three candidates have met the same criteria for initial <br /> appointment. They have been performing their duties in an equally and <br /> . � y <br /> satisfactory manner for the department. <br /> Selectman Mills indicated that Ms.Taylor-Kelly has not received her <br /> APCO 40 hour Emergency Medical certification or Emergency Medical <br /> Dispatch certification to date. She noted that the other two candidates <br /> have exceeded their minimum level of qualification for the position. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the manner in which the Personnel <br /> Board conducted the interview process. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dinizio to authorize the Personnel <br /> A Board to meet with the Chief of Police to discuss and review <br /> t .0 <br /> the Public Safety Dispatcher appointment and return to the <br /> Board with a recommendation after thorough review. <br /> Y~' Motion seconded by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> a'"Y <br /> tVOIE.
