S3 e r Page ._f Board of Selectmen Minutes March 18, 1996 ,Annual Town Meeting Warrant Discussion: Article#31: To accept Section 4, Section 73,of the Acts of 1986, as amended by Chapter 126 of the Acts of 1988, which authorized additional real estate exemptions. Motion made by Selectman Mills to remove Article #31 from the Annual Town Meeting Warrant. Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. YOTK,: Unanimous. 5-0. Consideration of,New Articles Communication was received from the Boys &Girls Club of Cape Cod dated March 4, 1995 requesting the Board place an article on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant to acquire land for the club facility. The search committee has identified a parcel of land located in Mashpee between the Police and Fire Departments. The article will request the Town-- to owrito donate, lease, and or sell ten to fifteen acres of this parcel to the Boys & Girls Club. It was noted that approval will be subject to special legislation. Motion made by Selectman Mills to approve the request of the Boys & Girls Club. Town Counsel will be authorized to draft the land acquisition article on behalf of the Board of Selectmen for placement on the Annual Town Meeting Warrant, Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. YQTE: Unanimous. 5-0. PUBLIC,DISCUSSION: Juan Bacigalupi requested the Board appoint a representative to serve on the Feer Review Group to assist with design issues related to the MMR plume containment program. It was noted that Greg Taylor for is Mashpee's representative to the above. Mr.Baci alu i expressed concerns with respect to the plume containment g p process, and related community involvement. (memo enclosed) Selectman Caff n a member of the MMR Process Action Team indicated that the Senior Management Board, a select group working with the engineers, and hydrologists designing the plume containment system is keeping abreast of theprogram, and's actively involved in the process.
