As you are aware this matter <br /> is the subject of a criminal investigation and prosecution. The schedule'With respect to <br /> liquor license violations was necessarily subjugated to the much more serious criminal <br /> charges at the request of the District Attorney's office,working with Police investigators <br /> q Y � <br /> here in MashP ee. As you are also aware, the Selectmen's decision to postpone the <br /> January S scheduled hearincr on this matter was at the advice of Town Counsel in relation <br /> to the criminal charges pending in this case. An additional co of this opinion is attached <br /> P � PY P <br /> for your review. <br /> your awareness of this incident, the Police Department liaison and <br /> With respect to yo � p <br /> the Chairman of the Board of S el ectm en were immediately made aware of this criminal <br /> matter. m Upon first return to work following this incident you were fully briefed, as is <br /> P Y <br /> evidenced b our detailed conversations with both the Chief of Police and with me, <br /> YY <br /> during which you expressed your deep consternation with the Raw Bar. <br /> You raise an additional concern regarding the structure of the hearing process. The <br /> structure of the hearing is as recommended by Town Counsel. It should be noted that this <br /> is not ain blic hear <br /> P uyou indicate in your letter,but an evidentiary hearing to receive <br /> g as <br /> testimony with respect to the charges.
