Page 9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 17, 1996 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> A in . enI of_.Public <br /> 5 afe ..Di.5patcher= <br /> Correspondence was received from ChiefPrzy bylek dated June 5, 1996 <br /> recommending the Board appoint Stephen Tippo as a full-time Public <br /> Safety Dispatcher, effective July 1, 1996. . <br /> It was noted that Mr.Tippo is currently one of the Police Department's <br /> Part-time dispatchers, and has been employed for over one year. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to appoint <br /> Stephen Tippo as a full-time Public Safety Dispatcher as j <br /> recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Frye. <br /> OTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Ilse s <br /> f R arse: <br /> } <br /> Communication was received from William C.Przybylek dated <br /> May 23, 1996 requesting the Board allow other community groups to s <br /> utilize the Ropes Adventure-Based Course located between the Police <br /> and Fire Stations. <br /> E; <br /> It was noted that a DARE grant funded the course that has trained a <br /> number oflice officers firefighters and school teachers to act as <br /> Po � g t <br /> facilitators for groups using the course. <br /> Mashpee school students involved in the DARE training, and other <br /> Mashpee students identified as "high risk"for substance abuse or <br /> disciplinary problems have also used the course. <br /> Chief b lek recommended the Board address this issue as a policy <br /> � y P� y <br /> issue, and grant the request from other community groups to use the <br /> course. <br /> Mr. Whritenour recommended the Board approve the use of the Ropes <br /> Course, and allow him to work with the Chief of Police and Director <br /> of Leisure Services to develop a written management plan for the <br /> Z. <br /> Leisure Services operation of the facility and return to the Board. <br /> *Approved. <br /> y' <br />
