(enclosed)Ppo , <br /> Capital Improvement Committee amended.to read: Curtis Frye { <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to approve the Annual <br /> Appointments as amended for a term to expire; June 30, 1997. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VO Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> f <br /> Recommenahongf Watorways Commission r : _-John'a Pond3lalom. <br /> Cours"ndki m - <br /> Communication was received from the Waterways Commission dated <br /> June 5, 1996 on the matter of a request from John's Pond Ski Club to <br /> use a slalom course and/or ski jump on John's Pond. <br /> It was noted that the Waterways Commission held a Public Hearin <br /> on this matter as requested by the Board of Selectmen on June 3, 1996. <br /> Approximately 25 people attended the hearing. Several spoke to advocate <br /> the activity. No on spoke against the proposal. Attached for the Board's <br /> review was a petition signed by approximately 140 people in favor of <br /> this type of activity on the pond. <br /> As a result of the presentation,the Waterways Commission voted <br /> . y <br /> unanimously to approve the request based upon the overwhelming <br /> favorable response indicated Ben Gordon, a member of the commission, <br /> George Ryan,President of the Ski Club wasp resent to seek the Board's <br /> approval. As noted,the equipment Will be used in a non-competitive <br /> fashion in cooperation with the Mashpee Harbor Masters between the <br /> hours of 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday <br /> only. <br /> Mr. Ryan indicated that the equipment will be promptly removed from the <br /> pond after use and stored off shore in front of his residence at 180 <br /> Ninigret Avenue. <br /> Perry Ellis,Harbor Master indicated that he supports the proposal as <br /> outlined on a limited basis. If there are any problems,he recommended <br /> the Board deny the permit application. <br />
