Page 3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 1, 1996 <br /> NEW BUSINESS= <br /> Appointment of Assistant Building Inspector. <br /> Carole Dunivan, Chairman of the Personnel Board was present <br /> to recommend the Board appoint Russell Wheeler for the position <br /> of full-time Assistant Building Inspector. <br /> Bill Hauck, Building Inspector was also present in support of <br /> the Personnel Board's recommendation for appointment. <br /> Ms. Dunivan discussed the Personnel Board's interview process with <br /> members of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> As noted, the Personnel Board had only one recommendation for <br /> the appointment, but felt that Mr. Wheeler was the best candidate. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to appoint Russell Wheeler <br /> to the position of full-time Assistant Building Inspector. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> TE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Marsters,liaison to the Personnel Board indicated that he <br /> met with members of the Personnel Board to discuss the interview and <br /> recommendation process. <br /> The Personnel Board will rank in order of preference,three candidates <br /> for the Board of Selectmen's consideration. The Chairman of the Personnel <br /> Board will attend the Selectmen's meeting to further discuss the <br /> recommendation in Open Session. <br /> Candidates for high paying positions will also be interviewed by the <br /> Board of Selectmen in Open Session. It is the consensus of the Board <br /> to interview for the position of Network Administrator. <br /> In other business, Selectman Caffyn indicated that Board Secretaries <br /> are not full-time employee's and should not be considered for in-house <br /> posting. <br /> Under the Personnel Administration Plan (PAP), Board Secretaries have <br /> the right to apply for in-house posting informed Ms.Dunivan. <br /> Selectman Caffyn requested to further review the policy in writing. <br />
